Additional Entry Requirements for International students
International Students Entry requirements:
 
1. All students must be 18 years of age or over at the time of applying for admission at Accend Education Group.
 
2. Entry into this course requires IELTS band score of 5.5 or equivalent in line with DHA regulations. 
 
3. Entry into this course requires successful completion of an Australian Year 12 qualification or equivalent. However, selection is not based purely on academic performance. Relevant work experience, work samples and other documentation submitted will also be considered or mature age students will also be considered without the minimum education requirements but with relevant work experience within their chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet the course requirements. A minimum of 5 years’ experience would normally be expected however each case will be reviewed individually with their relevant work experience evidence provided.
 
 4.  Where applicable; (E.g. an applicant who has recently arrived in Australia and has completed their schooling in a language other than English) their literacy and numeracy will be screened prior to a student being enrolled into the course.

6. Completion of an automotive mechanical Certificate III qualification

Assessments

In AUR40216 - Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.

Students must complete, a total number of 10 Units consisting of

  • 1 core unit 
  • 9 elective units

Students have access to a fully equipped workshop environment (simulated) for practical demonstration and observations of all appropriate units throughout the course.

Practical tasks will be set for each student that relate to the course structure.

An assortment of assessment methods structures this qualification including Practical Observation, Written Assessment, Project and observations while student is attending to simulated real life scenarios.

All practical demonstrations will be observed by a ACCEND Trainer/Assessor.

In meeting their obligations to train a trainee, our trainer will ensure that:

  • The student has access to the full range of settings / experiences required to develop competencies in all aspects of automotive services
  • The student has access to the full range of tools and equipment commonly used by workers employed in the automotive industry
  • The student will be instructed and supervised by a suitably qualified and experienced person.
